Comprehensive Equestrian Facility Design
There is no single sauna that works equally well for everyone. Someone who uses a sauna regularly after training has very different priorities from a couple looking for a peaceful place to unwind. A family has different needs again, as does someone who regularly welcomes guests. That is why designing a well-functioning home wellness space does not begin with choosing the sauna, the wall finishes or the hot tub. First, we need to understand how the space will actually be used: by how many people, how often, what happens before and after the sauna session, and which functions will genuinely add value. We do not begin by asking what can fit into the space.
For us, bespoke sauna design begins here: not with selecting a ready-made product, but with understanding what kind of space needs to be created.
The next step is the site itself, where many of the first truly important decisions are often made. Knowing the available floor area alone is not enough. Ceiling height, the position of doors and windows, electrical and mechanical connections, ventilation, water connections and even how individual structural elements can be brought into the building all matter. For outdoor projects, the installation location, accessibility and the relationship between the surroundings and the wellness space are equally important. In many cases, all of this can already be assessed effectively during a free online survey using photos, videos, floor plans and a shared consultation. If more is required, an on-site survey can follow. This way, sauna planning begins not with assumptions, but with what is actually there.
A wellness space can easily be filled with impressive features. That does not necessarily mean it will work well. If, for example, the sauna is moved, the circulation, the position of the shower, the proportions of the glass surfaces or the technical layout may all change as a result. Large glass surfaces can create more light and openness, while also affecting heating requirements and privacy. The choice of sauna heater depends on the size and construction of the sauna, while ventilation only works properly if it is considered from the planning stage. The same applies to lighting, the relaxation area and even storage. Designing a bespoke wellness house is therefore not a series of separate decisions for us. We always look at the entire space, because even one poorly positioned element can disrupt an otherwise well-designed layout.
One of the most interesting parts of the design process is deciding how much of each element is actually needed. More glass? A different timber finish? Concealed lighting? Smart controls? A larger relaxation area? There is no single answer that applies to every project. A good decision is one that makes sense in that particular space. In one project, a distinctive wall finish may define the entire character of the interior; elsewhere, a more restrained use of materials may work better. An additional feature may significantly improve the way the space is used, while in another project it may simply take up valuable room. Not everything needs to be included simply because it is possible. A bespoke sauna or premium wellness house becomes truly cohesive when there are no unnecessary elements and every decision serves the same purpose.
Once we understand the requirements, the site and the technical possibilities, the actual design process can begin. First, the layout concept takes shape, then the space gradually becomes more precise: the functions find their place, materials, equipment and technical solutions are selected, and finally a detailed design is created that becomes the basis for manufacturing and construction. At this stage, we are no longer talking about wanting “something like this”, but about specific dimensions, structures and solutions. This is precisely the process that separates an idea from a project that can actually be built.
